South Yorkshire boy dies after being found collapsed

POLICE are investigating the death of a South Yorkshire teenager who collapsed in the street at 8pm on Saturday night.

The 16-year-old boy, who has not been named, was found on a pavement in Wadworth Street, Denaby Main, Doncaster,

He was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary hospital where he later died.

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances and believe the death to be drug related.

Three people were arrested on suspicion of drugs related offences,

A SOUTH Yorkshire man was led to safety from his fume-filled house in the early hours of Saturday morning after a neighbour heard his smoke alarm sounding.

Firefighters from Rotherham station forced entry to the property, on Elizabeth Way, Masborough, and found the 29 year-old inside at around 4.30am.

A 33-year old Rotherham woman has been fined £80 for wasting police time after she claimed a man from Brinsworth entered her property and stolen a Nintendo 3DS and a quantity of cash, while she was asleep.

Police later found out the woman had in fact asked the man to sell the equipment on her behalf.

DS Mick Fletcher said:”On this occasion, this woman has found herself on the wrong side of the law and has felt the impact in her pocket. May I take this chance to urge others who feel that they can waste police time to think again.”

A WOMAN had to be cut from the wreckage of her overturned car after it collided with a van in Sheffield Road, Eckington on Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters from Mosborough and Staveley used hydraulic cutting gear to free the woman at around 2.45pm and she was taken to Calow Hospital.
