Sort out yellow peril

Can someone explain why the relevant authorities are turning a blind eye to the traffic chaos caused by people stopping on double yellow lines while waiting for a space at the car park at Weston Park Hospital?

Over the last few weeks I have had to take a lady to Claremont Hospital and my grandson to the Children’s Hospital and on each occasion it has taken more than 20 minutes to travel from the Netherthorpe roundabout up Western Bank and past the Weston Park Hospital.

I believe parking on double yellow lines is forbidden at any time, let alone queueing for space in a car park.

The width of Witham Road does not allow for three lanes of traffic and the cars waiting on Western Bank are unaware of the reason for the hold-up. The authorities should sort out this problem before a serious accident happens and some poor soul is killed or seriously injured.
