Solar power aids charity

DINNINGTON-based digital TV specialist New Channels have donated solar panels to help charity shop Amy’s House generate its own electricity and save money.

The charity’s Handsworth shop, which opened in 2010, helps raise money for Amy’s House, a respite facility that cares for special needs children and their families.

Amy’s House fundraising coordinator Julie Pickering said the panels will help cut overheads.
