Smoking ban 'going well'
BUSINESSES affected by the ban on smoking have been praised for the way new legislation has been implemented.
Sheffield Council has visited 300 premises, ranging from pubs and clubs to bingo halls and betting offices, where they found no breaches of the ban and 90 per cent of venues displaying correct signs to advise customers.
Of the 10 per cent which did not have the right signs a small number have been sent warning letters. They will be given follow-up inspections to ensure the correct information has been put on show.
