Smith a top ten hit in goal deluge

A ten-goal haul by Beth Smith was the highlight of Doncaster Rovers Belles Under-16s' 21-0 win Yorkshire Junior League rivals Huddersfield Town.

She was backed up by Jenny Knibbs 3, two each from Cassie Craddock, Emma Johnson and Loren Turner with Ewa Kotcha and Fran Wright completing the scoring.

Belles had to settle for one win in three in their Yorkshire Junior League games against Wigton Moor.

The U-10s looked to be facing a humiliating defeat when they trailed 11-0 at half-time but the girls rallied after an interval lecture from their manager and played some excellent football in the second half before conceding a 12th goal at the death.

The U-13s Reds had the lead three times in an entertaining tussle before going down 4-3 to a fiercely contested goal.

The U-15s Whites prevented a whitewash by romping to a 5-1 victory.

Lorna Mason and Megan Wilson both bagged a brace and Charlotte Lawes also netted as the Whites recorded their first win of the campaign.

The U-15s Reds posted an emphatic 9-1 win at Glass-houghton Welfare to consolidate their position at the top of Division One.

The U-11s also maintained their early-season form by beating Wortley Girls 4-2 on their travels in a fiercely-contested but enjoyable match. Lori Hudson, Grace Sanderson, Jess Lacey and Kristie Ward shared the goals.

The U-16s produced the club's best result beating Huddersfield Town 21-0.

The club's only junior match on Sunday saw the U-13s Whites travel to high flying Batley, last week's conquerers of the U-13s Reds, and they restored local pride by seeing off the West Yorkshire side with a 5-1 win.

Jess Sigsworth chipped in with a brace and Chloe Dixon, Sophie Foxon-Wise and Jasmine McNaught also found target.
