SLIDESHOW: Sheffield families flock to Out Of This World Halloween event
Out Of This World took over Sheffield city centre once again yesterday – for the third year runnin g.
Attractions celebrating all things out of the ordinary including comic book characters, movie-themed cars, zombies, puppets, live music, fairground rides and even a giant dinosaur.

Hide AdComic book fan Ethan Summers, who was dressed as Batman, said his favourite part of the Halloween-themed event was seeing everyone’s costumes.
The 11-year-old, of Totley, said: “I liked seeing people getting into character as their favourite superheroes.
“This is the first year I’ve been and it has been a lot of fun. I liked the giant dinosaur too it because it looked quite realistic. The zombies were a bit frightening because they looked so real!”
Coun Mary Lea, cabinet member for culture, parks and leisure at Sheffield Council, said: “Out Of This World is fast becoming one of our most popular major events in the city and one of the most popular events of this kind in the UK.

Hide Ad“This was an event for people of all ages, where people were transported in to a fantasy world for the day, in awe of sci-fi characters, amazed by illusionists and even a little spooked in our horror zone.”
Sci-fi fans were treated to displays from Sheffield Robotics, interactive daleks, and a whole host of characters including Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers.
There were also performances from the popular Magic Carpet Theatre and Dr Diabolo’s Incredible Sideshow.
And the Town Hall was taken over by sci-fi, gaming and comics for collectors to view and buy.
