On 25th June 2007 Sheffield suffered its worst flooding in recent memory.

Two people were killed by the floodwaters, and extensive damage was caused to businesses and homes.

Office workers had to be airlifted to safety in Brightside, and a number of shops at Meadowhall suffered flood damage and were closed for months.

Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough ground was under 6ft of water following the deluge.
