TV presenter and avid Sheffield United fan Charlie Webster is due in the city tomorrow as part a 250-mile run taking her to 40 football clubs over seven days.
Charlie, who was born in Sheffield and attended Tapton School, is raising cash for domestic violence charity Women’s Aid.
Her challenge began at Burton Albion on Sunday and is due to finish at West Ham United on Saturday.
Charlie, a top junior athlete in the city in her younger days, works for Sky Sports News.
She worked as a TV presenter for Real Madrid TV before moving to Asia to join ESPN where she presented live Premier League football, motorsport and Asian football.
Charlie said: “I came up with the idea of this challenge last year while trying to think of a way to engage both sexes in standing up against domestic abuse and educate on what is so commonly referred to as a ‘women’s issue’.
“Women and men need to speak out together to end domestic violence and set an example for the next generation that will make up our society.”
