A Sky spokesman said: “Protecting our colleagues and customers is our top priority. Following a number of confirmed cases, we closed our Sheffield site on 26 October for at least seven days as a precautionary measure.”

It is understood the site was closed after a number of coronavirus cases were confirmed among staff.

Employees are understood to be working from home during the clean.

One worker, who declined to be named, said that ‘multiple employees’ had been confirmed to have Covid-19.

It is understood the office will re-open on November 2.
