A number of animal carcasses have been removed by the council after they were found dumped on a Sheffield street.

Concerned residents took to Facebook yesterday to warn that two "skinned dogs" had been dumped off Carlisle Street in Attercliffe.

However, the Star understands that the animals in question were not dogs, but were "legitimately butchered carcasses".

The carcasses have now been removed by Sheffield City Council.
