Six-vehicle crash causing delays on South Yorkshire motorway

Motorists are currently experiencing extensive delays on a South Yorkshire stretch of motorway, following an accident involving six vehicles this afternoon.

Police were called at around 4pm to what is thought to be a six-vehicle pile-up across two lanes of the M1 between junctions 33 and 32.

A spokesman said: "There are not thought to be any injuries at the moment but the incident is causing big delays for rush hour commuters."

Two lanes are currently closed, there is queuing traffic and long delays on M1 southbound at J33, A630 (Catcliffe).

There is also congestion to J35, A629 (Rotherham).
