Six men are charged over away match disorder

Six Rotherham men have been charged in connection with disorder at a football match.

The men, arrested by officers investigating incidents involving Rotherham fans on a Burton Albion match day on February 9, will appear before magistrates today.

Jake Benson, aged 18, of Holmes Court, is charged with criminal damage at The Lord Burton pub in Burton.

Jack Stanford from Fenton Way, and Liam Burrows from Woodside Walk, both 21, are charged with a section 5 public order offence at the Pirelli Stadium.

Sam Bates, 21, of Stratford Way, John Sheridan, 23, of Scrooby Street, and Ben Wilson, 19, of Gibbing Greaves Road, are all charged with affray at Riley’s Snooker Hall.

The police investigation is ongoing.
