Sir Peter Blake inspires gallery pop art workshop

Pop Art pioneer Sir Peter Blake, designer of Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club album cover, is the inspiration behind a workshop at The Harley Gallery this month.

Children will have the opportunity to create bug masks and pocket-sized travel journals at the hour-long session, whle experimenting with colours, textures and patterns, inspired by Sir Peter Blake’s World Series of original collages, which is currently on display at the gallery.

Dayle Green, education and engagement manager, said: “The workshop is a great way for children, and their parents, to explore the work of this much loved artist while learning how to create their own collage. It gives everyone a chance to get creative.”

The workshops will run from 11am and 12 noon next Wednesday.
