SHEFFIELD school pupils were among those who broke a Guinness World Record for the most people singing and doing sign language simultaneously.
A total of 996 Sheffield pupils and teachers took part in the event which saw 114, 277 people from across the UK singing and signing at the same time.
Steve Powell, chief executive of SignHealth, the healthcare charity for deaf people, said: “We are delighted to have broken the world record for the second year running and we are going to try and beat it again next year.
“We organised the sign2sing event to help raise awareness of deafness and the work we do at SignHealth.”
The Sheffield schools raised £391.53 for SignHealth.
