A new carol written in memory of murdered church organist Alan Greaves has been made available to download online, so it can be performed at carol services this Christmas.
The piece was written by composer Bob Chilcott who has allowed Oxford University Press to make the sheet music available free of charge.
Oxford University Press says it has been inundated with requests to perform it this Christmas and, in order to make that possible, the music can now be downloaded free from its website.
Mr Greaves, aged 68, was fatally attacked as he made his way to St Saviour’s Church in High Green, Sheffield, last Christmas Eve to play the organ at the midnight service.
Two men, Jonathan Bowling and Ashley Foster, both 22, were jailed for the killing in July.
Mr Chilcott said he wrote the piece, The Bethlehem Star, because he was shocked and saddened by the murder.
