Simply superb

Showboat at the Crucible was simply superb '“ the Cotton Blossom, of the title, sailed majestically into view, with paddles turning and the Mississippi river flowed around.

Bedecked with bunting and coloured lights it was a recreation of the MGM film opening.

A strong black chorus head by a magnificent Joe, were deservedly applauded.
