COMMUTERS travelling into Sheffield by train during the morning rush hour faced long delays and cancellations due to signalling problems.
Services calling at Chesterfield and Dronfield were affected yesterday morning.
The signalling problems happened at Nottingham and affected all services on the line between Sheffield and the Midlands city.
One commuter, who was left standing at Dronfield for around three quarters of an hour, said: “I arrived for one train to Sheffield but it never appeared. The next train arrived 40 minutes later, so I was late for work.”
The problems led to cancellation of all services between Sheffield and Nottingham during the morning, with passengers diverted via Derby.
Some Sheffield to London trains were also delayed and diverted.
