How sickening to watch Theresa May presenting Professor Stephen Hawking with a lifetime achievement award at the Pride of Britain ceremony.
At the same time in the House of Commons, politicians were debating her government’s plan to cut the ESA allowance by up to £60 a fortnight for people too ill to work – disgusting!
Then it transpired last week that Iain Duncan Smith had commented that the Government doesn’t mind hitting “these sorts of people,” (his words) because he exclaimed “They don’t normally vote Tory!
Very nasty indeed from a member of the “nasty” party.
None of these callous cuts fill me with any pride – they make me feel ashamed to be British.
All this led not by necessity but by ideology.
