Shy pup Lloyd is looking for a loving new owner to help him blossom into a happy hound.

At just 14 months old, the cute brindle and white crossbreed is a little timid but is desperate to become someone’s four-legged best friend.

RSPCA Sheffield branch animal care manager Tony Benham said: “Lloyd is a lovely boy who is looking for a home with that bit of extra special love and care to bring him out of his shell.

“Gradually his confidence has grown, but we need someone who can continue to help him blossom.

“Ideally, he needs a quiet home where he can enjoy a stable routine and get used to new environments slowly. For this reason, we would prefer a home for Lloyd with adults only who can provide him with a relatively calm environment because of his timid but loving nature.”

Lloyd has no known health problems and, as with all RSPCA Sheffield branch dogs, he will leave the centre neutered, inoculated and with one month’s free pet insurance.

When it comes to exercise, RSPCA staff say it’s not purely about walking Lloyd.

Tony said: “Plenty of play between owner and dog is also vital and it is part of the joy of having an animal as a companion or family member.

“Our centre will advise and form an agreement plan with any new owners as part of the adoption process and we are always here to support.”
