Show support for soldiers as battalion plans march

Soldiers who spent last summer in Afghanistan are taking to the streets of South Yorkshire.

The Yorkshire Regiment’s Third Battalion – formerly The Duke of Wellington’s Regiment – is holding an event in Barnsley town centre, to exercise Freedom of the Borough.

The parade is on Thursday, July 18, accompanied by musicians and standard bearers. Members of the public are invited to show their support.

The soldiers will gather outside Barnsley Town Hall for inspection, before parading through the town centre.
