HELP raise funds for needy servicemen and women by joining members of the Royal British Legion for a walk in the Peak District.

To celebrate armed forces past and present, supporters of the charity are staging an Honour Walk which covers a six mile route around Ladybower Reservoir on Sunday, September 25, starting from Fairholmes Visitor Centre.

Community fundraiser Christine Selden said: “Everyone will be walking to show their support for someone, be it a family member or friend, that they know who has served their country. We would like as many people as possible to join in and walk in honour of the Armed Forces.

“Even if you don’t know someone who is currently serving, come along and walk in honour of a veteran, or for all those who are willing to give their lives in the service of the country.

“The Legion spends £1.4 million a week on welfare services and we’re hoping the money we raise will go a little way to helping to carry out this vital work.”
