Residents are being urged to have their say on changes to gritting routes.

The council said its plans were not ‘set in stone’ and it is hosting public meetings at the town hall on June 18 and 19.

Interactive maps detailing the locations of the roads affected will be available on the council’s website later this week.

Coun Jack Scott said: “We have come up with a suggestion and we want to be sure we have got it right.”

He added: “The last thing we want to do is not grit a road that needs it or take away a grit bin that is used.”

Gritters will test the proposed routes during the consultation.
