One witness, who asked not to be named, said he saw a black Peugeot pull up outside a property on Batemoor Road and heard three loud bangs, at which point a group of men who had been standing outside the door ran inside.

He said the car then sped off, and he does not believe anyone was injured in the shooting.

"There were three massive bangs and everyone was running," he said.

"It's close to a school and a nursery and there were children and their parents everywhere when it happened.

"There are armed police everywhere now because a child could have been shot."
