Shopkeeper stabbed in Dinnington armed robbery

A shopkeeper was stabbed in an armed robbery at a Dinnington shop.

Police are appealing for witnesses after two men entered the Fairway Convenience Store, on Borrowdale Crescent, at 9pm on Thursday and threatened the lone shopkeeper with a knife.

They then stole cash from the till and one of the men stabbed the shopkeeper, causing non life-threatening injuries to his head and body.

A police spokesman said: “Offices believe the men left the scene in a silver Mazda that is believed to have been stolen during a recent burglary.”

One man was described as 6ft tall, wearing a grey hooded top with a red or yellow top underneath.

The other man was 5ft 8ins tall, wearing a dark blue hoodie pulled tightly over his face.
