A WHEELIE bin arson attack caused serious damage to a butcher’s shop in Mexborough.

Flames from the bin spread to refrigeration units on the rear wall of Wray’s in the High Street.

Two of the units were destroyed and a third was damaged before the fire was put out.

The crews could not gain access to the locked shop.

A fire service spokesman said the bin fire was started deliberately.
