Another user tweeted: "So @veeno_uk #Sheffield has gone bust. We have booked (paid for - gift voucher) for a wine/ food tasting experience AND paid for train tickets to go in 3 weeks time. What now? Are we going to be massively out of pocket?"

Musician Paul Pashley was due to perform at Veeno on Thursday, July 26 but has taken to Facebook to inform fans about the cafe's 'closure'.

He posted: "PLEASE TAKE NOTE. (VEENO Sheffield)

"Hey guys, obviously out of our control, we’ve just been informed that Veeno ( Sheffield ) has closed its doors with immediate effect.

"Paul’s evening next Thursday from 8pm obviously will no longer take place at this venue. However, we are working on securing another venue for the night to avoid people’s disappointment who were looking forward to coming along. To do this we need to look / know numbers.

"If you could let us know ( private message or comment) dependant upon numbers, will will look into other venues to help avoid disappointment."

Veeno only opened their doors in the former Carluccio's site in December last year, becoming the chain's 18th site in the country.

The cafe was formed in 2013 and has spread out to a number of other locations including York, Manchester, London, Cardiff and Edinburgh.

The Star has contacted Veeno for a response.
