Shining a spotlight on city businesses

Fripp Design and Research is one of many city businesses sharing the spotlight in the Made in Sheffield exhibition.

Currently on show at the Millennium Gallery, the exhibition showcases a range of familiar brands and products developed in the city.

And alongside a number of recognisable names are a host of businesses whose expertise helps top brands do what they do even better.

Fripp Design and Research is a dynamic product design, research and business consultancy based in Rotherham. They have built up a reputation for delivering pioneering solutions for their clients, including industrial research, prototyping and concept development.

Founded by Steve Roberts and Tom Fripp in 2004, Fripp Design and Research help its clients to realise their product concepts and ideas, and redesign existing products to help businesses compete in the workplace.

Steve said: “We’re a customer focused business – we solve complex problems for business in terms of product design. No two projects are the same – we work with big blue chip companies and small independent businesses, to give them an advantage and keep them one step ahead of their competitors.”

Fripp Design and Research have designed products for a range of national and local businesses, including sweets for Nestle which included GPS tracking to help them find competition winners and medical equipment for Ophthalmic Medical Instruments. They’re at the forefront of 3D printing and developing revolutionary silicon-made prostethics.

The free exhibition will run at the gallery until January 8.
