Sheltering under condemned trees
I took this photo today in 22 degrees heat, of young people shading themselves under some of the condemned trees of Rustlings Road.
Eight of the trees are due to be felled despite concerned citizens’ ongoing hard voluntary work to try to save them.
They are healthy, mature and structurally sound highway trees that include limes that were planted around 1905 and which have at least another 150 years to live if retained and maintained.
