Various organisations across Sheffield put on events encouraging people to enjoy being active in the outdoors.

Norfolk Park hosted orienteering in which children and adults worked around courses in the park and surrounding housing estates. It also held the South Yorkshire orienteering league for schoolchildren.

At the Climbing Works people took on the Rab international festival (CWIF) – a free to enter bouldering competition where the winner gets £2,000.

There was also mountain biking, walking and film screenings.

As the month goes on there will be opportunities to take part in all kinds of activities including city centre duel slalom mountain biking, urban caving in the Victorian storm drain network and trail runs.
