SHEFFIELD schoolgirl Carly Royles put her MP on the spot during a visit to the House of Commons as part of Parliament Week 2012.

The 11-year-old Meadowhead School pupil asked Sheffield Heeley MP Meg Munn why she should be interested in politics and which heroes she admired most.

Carly also interviewed other MPs for education charity Filmclub for inclusion in a short documentary to mark the week and help young people learn more about parliamentary democracy.

She was chosen from hundreds of club members from all over the country to be a reporter for the project.

Carly told how the experience had given her confidence and had taught her not to worry about things.

She said: “I enjoyed interviewing all the MPs and I’m grateful to everybody who’s made this possible. My favourite interview was with Meg because we have a lot in common seeing as we’re both from Sheffield.”
