A new show by a Sheffield writer is being previewed at a special event in the city on Wednesday (January 30).

Soraya Nabipour’s latest piece, called standing; remember, will premiere as part of Theatre Deli’s Work-In Progress Wednesday at the venue on Eyre Street.

In standing; remember the performer’s task is to do just that  – stand and remember. The piece puts a microscope on something we do every single day.

Producer Alfie Heffer said: “The performance is understated, quotidian, funny and raw. It remains about people(ness), it’s about what it means to be a person.”

Soraya has recently been working on  Sheffield company Forced Entertainment’s production That Night Follows Day at the SouthBank Centre, London and performing in the New York City Players’ show Queen Row at the Institute for Contemporary Art, London.

The one-hour show takes place at 7.45pm. Book tickets at www.eventbrite.co.uk
