A former worker at a Sheffield sex toys and lingerie shop has lost a claim for unfair dismissal.

Anne Nicolson, from Eckington, worked as a sales consultant at Anne Summers in Meadowhall shopping centre from January 2012 until she resigned in November 2013.

The 26-year-old told a Sheffield employment tribunal that a series of upsetting events and health and safety issues had affected her health and led to her handing in her notice,

These included being asked to take store deliveries alone and lock-up the store at night.

However, Jayne Flint, solicitor for the firm, said that these were duties outlined in a ‘nominated persons’ training book Miss Nicolson had read and completed as part of her role.

The case was dismissed.
