An OAP in her nineties woke to find a burglar in the bedroom of her Sheffield home.

Police were called to Lytton Drive, Parson Cross, just after midnight on Tuesday after the 92-year-old woman woke to find the man in her room.

She then followed him and the man, along with another man, grabbed her arm, causing her bruising.

The men, both white, while one wore a woolly hat and was around 5ft 11in, stole a large amount of jewellery, including an army badge belonging to her late husband.

Detective Inspector Shaf Rehman said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim. Thankfully, the victim wasn’t too seriously hurt but I have no doubt this traumatic experience will have a lasting effect.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101.
