Sheffield Wednesday: Why Jos Luhukay is refusing to underestimate Reading

Manager Jos Luhukay has warned his Owls side not to take Reading lightly when they visit the Madejski Stadium tomorrow.

The Royals are languishing in the lower reaches of the Championship after picking up just two points from 15 on offers. It is the first time Reading have failed to win any of their opening five matches in a second-tier season since 1997-98 when they finished bottom of the table.

Luhukay, whose team are seeking a third straight league win, told The Star: "Reading will be 200 per cent motivated to have their first three points. We had that last week and they will have it tomorrow.

"We must also be 100 per cent motivated to have our first win away from home. Both sides will have a lot of motivation.

"Going into the international break with three successive wins would give us some momentum, absolutely. That would give us a very positive feeling. After the international break, we have a lot of tough opponents."

The Dutchman expects it to be a "tough" affair, saying: "Reading have a lot of quality and offensive speed. We will find our own way to play.

"We must have strong defending and support each other and then have the trust and confidence to come to good offensive moments. We have enough quality to create chances."

Defender Daniel Pudil (groin) remains a major doubt after missing the last three fixtures due to a groin injury.

Luhukay is expected to ring the changes after switching his entire starting XI for the midweek Carabao Cup defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
