Dawson has started the Owls' six Championship fixtures, helping Luhukay's side pick up 10 points heading into the international break.

But the Dutchman has been pleased with the academy product's performances.

"Cameron has stepped up very well," said Luhukay. "Honestly, it is no surprise.

"We know with Cammy, and also Joe, that we can trust them and they are the future for us. Of course, it is now important that Cammy gets experience in the Championship and that he has his own personality and is strong for us.

"He needs to give the defence confidence so it is very important that he is putting in performances like this for us."
