Luhukay, who gave his players five days off following their 2-1 victory over Reading last time out, told The Star: "We must not be afraid of anyone in this league but we are also not arrogant.

"We know where we are and what we want to do. We must as a team be strong and continue to develop every day and in every game."

After taking on the relegated Potters, Wednesday face an away double-header at promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa.

Luhukay's side then host Leeds United, who have made a strong start to the campaign, and West Bromwich Albion before rounding off a tough-looking period with a trip to Bristol City.

"Every game is a new challenge," conceded the Dutchman. "I know after the international break we play clubs from the highest level in the Championship so we must have very good preparation.

"We must have a high focus for Stoke, WBA, Aston Villa. All these teams I think at the end of the season can be in the top six positions so it is a big challenge."

Meanwhile, Turkish club Fenerbache are reportedly interested in making former Owls head coach Carlos Carvalhal their new manager. Carvalhal has been without a club since leaving Swansea City at the end of last season after failing to keep the Welsh club in the Premier League.
