The tough-tackling midfielder, who suffered the knock in Wednesday’s 4-1 victory over Preston North End on March 30, has jetted out to Barcelona to receive treatment on the problem. Earlier this year, Forestieri flew to Madrid to work closely with a physio following knee surgery.

As for Hutchinson, injuries have plagued him over the last 12 months, restricting him to just nine appearances this term.

The former Chelsea youngster finished last campaign playing in the Championship play-offs against Huddersfield Town with a ruptured hernia. Hutchinson, a first-team regular under former Owls boss Carlos Carvalhal, rushed back after summer surgery before fracturing his leg at home to Queens Park Rangers in August.

However, Hutchinson’s injury was initially misdiagnosed and only come to light after he attempted a 45-minute comeback as a substitute in their loss at Bolton Wanderers back in October.

After another knee operation, Hutchinson returned to action ahead of schedule in December, featuring three times over the Christmas period.

Hutchinson then sustained a fresh hernia problem in the New Year, which also required surgery.

He made his return in mid-March, helping Wednesday secure three vital points at Leeds United.
