JOS KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING

Some Wednesdayites questioned Luhukay's decision to drop forwards Atdhe Nuhiu and Fernando Forestieri to the bench and switch their formation from 3-5-2 to 3-4-3. But his personnel changes and tactics paid off as the Owls secured back-to-back away victories. Luhukay has steered the club into the top six after a difficult run of fixtures. He is doing a top job.

LUCAS JOAO IS A BIG ATTACKING WEAPON

It looked like being a frustrating afternoon for Joao after he missed a good first half opportunity. But the Portugual international refused to let his head drop, hitting two goals in the space of three second half minutes to swing the contest the Owls' way. Joao is a direct, unpredictable forward and he has kicked off the season in fine form, bagging five goals in nine outings.

MICHAEL HECTOR HAS SETTLED IN WELL

The centre half, on loan from Chelsea until the end of the season, delivered an assured display at the heart of the Owls' three-man defence. He made a string of important clearances and was a calming influence throughout. Hector has been a good addition, adding speed, experience and flexibility to Wednesday's backline.

SLOPPY FIRST HALF

The Owls set up to contain and stifle the Robins' attacking threat but, as Luhukay pointed out post-match, they were 'nervous' and careless on the ball. 'We had no control,' he said. It was a below-par showing and they were lucky not to be behind at half-time. A better team than Bristol City would have punished them. But they produced a much-improved performance after the restart.
