The Kosovo international finished the 2017/18 campaign in fine form, hitting nine goals in his last eight appearances.

Nuhiu has blossomed under manager Jos Luhukay. In the Dutchman’s 19 league matches as Owls chief, the 28-year-old has scored or assisted 14 goals - more than any Championship player throughout the same period. His hat-trick on the final day of the season against Norwich CIty ensured Nuhiu finished as the club’s top-scorer with 14 goals in all competitions.

“For me, in England, Sheffield Wednesday have been the club who opened the door me,” said Nuhiu, who moved to Hillsborough nearly five years ago after leaving Turkish club Eskisehirspor.

Nuhiu has bagged 38 goals in 198 Wednesday outings.
