Sheffield Wednesday starlet George Hirst hits a double on England debut
Sheffield Wednesday youngster George Hirst marked his England under 17 debut with two goals against Germany in Portugal.
Hirst, the son of Owls legend David, had the Young Lions 2-0 up at half time with a double haul in the 17th and 24th minutes in their second game of the Algarve Tournament.
However, Germany hit back in the second half and after Ipswich keeper Nick Hayes had saved a penalty, they scored twice late on, the equaliser coming from Leipzig's Renat Dadashov in stoppage time.
Hirst will be hoping the goals keep him in the team as England play their final game of the tournament on Tuesday against Holland. The first match, against hosts Portugal, was drawn 1-1.
