Forestieri has been forced to sit-out Wednesday’s Championship clashes against Rotherham United and Brighton and Hove Albion following his contentious red card at Hull City.
Official Tim Robinson sent off Forestieri for two bookable offences. The forward, who has netted 12 times since arriving from Watford, was harshly adjudged to have dived for his second caution.
It was Forestieri’s second dismissal in as many matches and Wednesday have failed to find the back of the net without him.
Nuhiu, a second half substitute in Tuesday’s goalless draw at Brighton, told The Star: “We all know that Fernando is a key player for our team. I’m happy he is back.
“It wasn’t right what happened to Fernando.
“If a player makes a mistake or gets sent off for two yellow cards, there’s nothing that can be done. If a referee makes a mistake, nobody talks about it. It is not seen as a problem. They don’t get punished.
“When Jose Mourinho was still in charge of Chelsea, he would say things as they were and get fined. Managers can lose their jobs because of some refereeing decisions.
“We, for example, could miss out on finishing in the play-offs because of some refereeing decisions. It is not fair or balanced.”
Owls left-back Daniel Pudil, meanwhile, has been selected in the Czech Republic squad for their up-and-coming friendlies with Scotland and Sweden.
