Sheffield Wednesday receive big boost as Barry Bannan signs new long-term contract
The influential midfielder, who was due to become a free agent next year, has established himself as a firm fans' favourite at Hillsborough since joining the club from Crystal Palace three years ago.
Bannan played an integral role in the Owls side who reached back-to-back play-offs. His flair and creativity was pivotal in Wednesday finishing sixth and fourth.
