Sheffield Wednesday: Players and coaching staff make it a blue and white Christmas with hospital visits

Sheffield Wednesday players and back room staff dropped in to city hospitals and charities to spread the festive cheer.

Head coach Carlos Carvalhal and his players joined Owls chairman Dejphon Chansiri to put smiles on the faces of patients and charity users to celebrate a special blue and white Christmas.

The bumper day began with a visit to the Sheffield Royal Society of the Blind, followed by a stops at Weston Park Hospital and the Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Split into groups, the Owls also made a trip to Hallam FM’s Cash for Kids to see some of the wonderful work that ensures thousands of disadvantaged children across the county enjoy the best Christmas possible.

Star striker Fernando Forestieri and midfield maestro Sam Hutchinson were left in fits of laughter by Luke Taylor during a visit Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice as the Owls fan cracked jokes.

A spokesman from Bluebell Wood said: “We had the most amazing time, so many laughs, these players are a credit to the club and so genuine and we can’t thank them enough for their visit.”
