Joey Pelupessy will wear the number 8 shirt next season

Jordan Rhodes wore that jersey last season but has now joined second-tier rivals Norwich City on a season-long loan.

The Owls chose to not to assign it to another player when they announced their 2018/19 squad numbers this afternoon.

Centre-forward Sam Winnall, back from his loan spell at Derby County, keeps the number 11 shirt, while right-back Liam Palmer moves from 16 to 2 now that Jack Hunt has been sold to Bristol City.
