Figures for the year ended May 31 2016 show the Owls’ losses have doubled. Wednesday made a pre-tax loss of £9.8m, up from £4.5m a season earlier.

Turnover rose by £7.1m to £22m during the period, an increase attributed to Wednesday reaching the Championship Play-Off Final, average league attendances at Hillsborough increasing from 21,997 to 22,641 plus improved revenue from commercial activities.
