The 26-year-old has today joined the Owls on a season long-loan.

Hector's arrival ends Wednesday's long search for a centre-back. The Owls have been short of options and experience in that department of the team, with Glenn Loovens released at the end of last season and Frederico Venancio returning to Portugal following the expiry of his loan deal.

As for Hector, he began his career at Reading but was snapped up by Premier League heavyweights Chelsea on the final day of the transfer window in the summer of 2015. The Jamaica international has failed to make a single appearance for the Blues.

He spent last term on loan at Hull City, appearing 38 times for the Tigers as they staved off the threat of relegation.

The move to Hillsborough represents Hector's 15th loan away from a parent club.

He joins fellow new boy Josh Onomah at Hillsborough.
