Sheffield Wednesday: Owls not quick enough to stop Reading but deserved a point, says Will Buckley

Sheffield Wednesday winger Will Buckley insisted that the Owls would have been worthy of a point against Reading at Hillsborough last night.

The Royals came out 2-0 winners after an early strike from Yaan Kermorgant and an injury time goal from substitute Adrian Popa, but Buckley felt that the chances created by Wednesday should have had least earned them a share of the spoils.

They were denied on a number of occasions by Reading keeper Ali Al Habsi, but while Buckley, who was one of those who couldn't find a way past Al Habsi, rued those missed opportunities, he did admit that Wednesday were too slow to prevent the visitors from inflicting their possession-based tactics on the match.

"It was a tough game, said Buckley, after making his first start since the end of September. "Them getting the early goal, we had to change our gameplan a bit and try to get the ball off them. We knew they were going to pass it about and when you are at home and 1-0 down you need to go get it a bit faster than we did.

"It was tough, the early goal changed everything and in the end with the chances we had we deserved at least a draw. They hit us on the counter with a goal they didn't deserve and I felt we deserved at least a point."

The on-loan winger added: "We know what they are about, they are good at what they do. We tried to stop that and I don't think we stopped that quick enough and obviously they got teh goal and after that we had the most of the chances and it just wasn't our night."
