Sheffield Wednesday: Owls hit by £10,000 fine after Blues melee
Both clubs admitted rule breaches after players failed to “conduct themselves in an orderly fashion” in the dying stages of their match at St Andrew’s on Saturday, February 6.
Birmingham substitute James Vaughan’s late challenge on winger Ross Wallace sparked a heated confrontation between both sets of players. Striker Vaughan, Wallace and ex-Wednesday centre-back Michael Morrison were all cautioned following the melee.

Hide AdIn a statement, the FA confirmed the Blues had been fined £8,500 and the Owls £10,000 and that both clubs had been “warned as to their future conduct”. It is thought Wednesday received a bigger financial punishment because more of their players were embroiled in the incident.
Their cases were heard by an Independent Regulatory Commission on Tuesday.
The Owls triumphed 2-1 after a second half double by Gary Hooper. The former Celtic striker has bagged 10 goals in his last 11 appearances and boss Carlos Carvalhal is not shocked by his stellar form.
Boss Carvalhal said: “I must tell you that this is not a surprise to me. Gary is doing what he likes to do, is enjoying how we play and is doing goals because he enjoys the way we are playing.”
