Sheffield Wednesday: Owls ease fears over Kieran Lee's injury

Lee was a notable absentee as Wednesday claimed back-to-back Championship wins after first half strikes by Adam Reach and Jordan Rhodes. It is understood the 29-year-old was sent for a scan yesterday.

But head coach Carvalhal believes the influential midfielder will be available for selection after the two-week international break.

He said: "We have some players who we must manage when we play three games in a week. Kieran is one of them. He only played 15-20 minutes in the last game (Millwall).

"I was hoping to play him from the beginning. The pain sometimes comes when he's running.

"We need the player for the whole season and he was not in the conditions to play. Maybe if he played today he would have stopped three or four weeks.

"We must stop him at this moment but I believe he will recover for the next game."
