Wednesday will be seeking to avoid a third straight Championship defeat when they take on the Tigers at the KCOM Stadium tomorrow.

Over 1,500 Owls supporters cheered the team on in the capital in midweek as they slumped to a dismal 4-2 defeat at Queens Park Rangers.

And Luhukay, who described their defending at Loftus Road as “too weak” and “passive” in a typically frank, candid pre-match press conference yesterday, has hailed Wednesday’s loyal fans.

He told The Star: “Our fans are unbelievably positive and get behind the team. I have a lot of respect for them.

“It is not easy as a fan when you go away from home to support your own team and your team are 3-0 down after 15 minutes.

“In the game, I heard our fans give support and stay behind the team. But the team must also work hard to get that support.

“I think the fans saw after (the opening) 15 minutes that the team didn’t give up and showed character.

“I hope we can give the fans a better feeling on Saturday but I know how football works. Hull have a lot of quality.”

Meanwhile, Wednesday’s Under-23s entertain Bristol City at Hillsborough today, kick-off 12:00pm.
